Oreka Godis isn’t the biggest fan of 9ice right now.
On Saturday, Punch Newspaper released an interview with Nigerian artiste 9ice. In the interview he elaborated on why he denied the twin girls he had with the media personality’s sister Victoria Godis.
Read excerpts from the interview;
On why he denied his twins: “I did say I didn’t have twins then because I believe it was personal. If I have N1m, I think it is only my account’s officer that should know how much I have. In fact, he wouldn’t even have the right to check my account unless I ask him to do that. He couldn’t just cull up my account details and start checking how much I have. This is not a car we are talking about, these are human beings.”
On if they’ll forgive him in the future when they find out he denied them: “I will tell them the reason I did that. It was the same way my father gave me his own reasons. I didn’t know him until I was 22. I got to know my mother when I was 18. They gave me their reasons for doing what they did. I asked my father where he was all the time I was growing up and he told me where and how and when he was a part of my life. If my kids grow up to ask me why I did what I did, I would certainly explain to them. I didn’t say I didn’t have kids just because I wanted to lie, No. I had my reasons. I had my life to live.”
On privacy in the entertainment world: “But there are still some elements that are personal. I didn’t fight anybody when the stories came out. I just didn’t say anything because I wasn’t ready to talk about it. I wasn’t ready to share the story. When I got ready, I even shared the pictures of the twins. Who knows, I could have even used their pictures to make money and sell to a publication that wanted them. But I just released the pictures.”
On getting married: “I will get married soon. But it might not be tomorrow. It might not be as early as people expect. It might even be earlier than people expect.”
On if he will get married to Victoria Godis: “It is very possible.”

Bellview Crash: Captain’s Family Sues Airline Over Compensation

Eight years after the tragic crash of Bellview aircraft Boeing 737-200, members of the family of the captain of the ill fated plane, Captain Lambert Imasuen have dragged the airline before the National Industrial Court (NIC) in Lagos over non-payment of compensation due to the family.
The case was filed before Justice Lawal Mani on behalf of other family members by Imuwahen Lenita Imasuen, who is the eldest child and administratrix of the estate of late Captain Imaseun.
It will be recalled that the aircraft was on its way to Abuja from Lagos when it crashed at Lisa village area of Ogun State, killing all 117 persons on board in 2005.
Defendants in the case are: Bellview Arilines Limited.
Other defendants are Kayode Odukoya, Tunde Yusuf, Gabriel Olowo, Emmanuel Ombu, Abisoye Mohammed, Kola Sobande, Chimara Imediegwu and Alex Iheuwa

Girl, 11, will be Britain’s youngest mother

A girl is to become Britain’s youngest mother after becoming pregnant at 11.
The girl smokes 20 cigarettes a day despite being eight months’ pregnant. She conceived aged 11 when she lost her virginity to a boy of 15 on a drunken night out with friends.
The 15-year-old has since been charged with rape by police, and is due to appear again at Edinburgh sheriff court on July 10.
Her 34-year-old mother, who gave birth to her youngest child eight months ago, said she was ‘proud’ of her daughter.
She will be 12 years and 8 months when she has the child next month. Jenny Teague, Britain’s youngest mother until now, was a month older when she gave birth in 1997.

The youngster, who lives near Edinburgh, says looking after her younger brothers has prepared her for motherhood.
But the girl admits she “panics and cries” when babies are unwell and does not feel able to bathe them.
The mother-to-be, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had unprotected sex with the teenage boy, who also cannot be identified, while drunk last August.
‘Excited’
She told the Sun: “I didn’t think I’d get pregnant because it was my first time. But I’m really excited and looking forward to being a mum.
“I can’t wait to take the baby swimming and out for walks in the pram. I think I’ll be able to cope as I’ve had lots of practice looking after my brothers.
“I know how to feed a baby its bottle and I can change nappies. But I panic and cry if they’re sick and I don’t like giving them a bath because I’m a bit frightened.
“It’s good to know I’ll have my mum here to help me if I need her.”
Concerned she might be pregnant, the girl visited a GP three times but tests proved negative. She learned the truth after buying a home-testing kit from a supermarket.
After the device displayed two blue lines, indicating she was pregnant, she pleaded with a female relative to break the news to her mother. The girl, who has been suspended from her first year of secondary school for fighting, said: “I was paranoid about what my mum was going to say and just frightened about being pregnant too.
“I knew straight away that I couldn’t have an abortion because that’s something I don’t believe in.

Policeman Handcuffs And Rapes Teenage Girl Inside His Car

A police officer has been accused of handcuffing and raping a woman.
According to reports, the Texas officer, Jackie Len Neal is being charged félony séxual assault
The 40-year-old officer allegedly began tailing the 19-year-old woman around 2 a.m. He persisted until she pulled over, then allegedly handcuffed her and assaulted her inside the patrol car. It was revealed that Neal told the woman that he was following her because her car was reported stolen, but officers have not confirmed the claim.
It was also revealed that a woman made a similar complaint about Neal years ago, but charges were never pursued because the woman refused to cooperate in an investigation.
The surveillance cameras in the patrol car were not working at the time the assault was reported, according to KXLY. However, GPS shows that the patrol car was parked in one place — the spot where the victim says she was raped — for about 18 minutes.

mysterious River of Healing Waters appears in Enugu

Wonders are happening in Nachi, a community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, as mysterious healing water, already named “Orimiri Jordan”, (River Jordan), appears in its territory.
The journalists, who visited the community on Tuesday, report that it has indeed become a Pilgrimage Centre, playing host to people from all parts of Nigeria.
Crowds of people arrive at the site just to dip into the river possessing healing power.
The whole story started on November 2011.
Community sources claim that a Fulani herdsman ran to the community and announced how water covered the place just few minutes after he passed.
“He told us that he passed that place with his herd of cattle and soon after, heard a strange noise; when he turned back, he discovered that a big stream has appeared at the same place he just passed with his cattle.”
The traditional ruler of Nachi community, His Royal Highness, Igwe F.O Onuigbo, Obi II of Nachi, told told the journalists that the mystery River was older than him.
Onuigbo said that in 1940s there was no water at that place, only white sand, but if one wanted to drink, one could scratch the surface of the land – and water would fill one’s hand immediately. Interestingly, commenting on what is all used to be like in the past, he added, that no water would come out for evil people.
Some people say that there used to be a small stream before, but later it disappeared. Still nobody claims to have been aware of the river healing power.
A lot of people gather at the place to test the water in action.
Mr. Daniel, the Okada operator, disclosed that he abandoned his vulcanizing job to benefit from the new business.
He says, “I have a vulcanizing shop at the Nachi Market, but when this new business came, I had to close the shop temporarily so that I can also make money here. I hardly make N1000 a day there in my shop, but since I joined this Okada transport to the Enugu Jordan River, I make no less than N10, 000 every day. One of my friends called my attention to it, and I will forever be grateful to him.”

Healing Powers
Although no instant miracle was recorded throughout the one-hour duration our correspondent spent at the river, sources disclosed that many visitors had testified to all forms of miracles after visiting the place.
People of all ages, with all forms of ailments are being assisted by their relatives and friends to dip themselves into the river.
One man said,
“I heard about people who had difficulties in walking but they got healed after visiting this place; I also heard of people who regained their sight after visiting this place; I am just coming out from the River and I believed that I am free of any form of sickness and challenges”.
Currently hundreds of excited Nigerians are seeking for miraculous solutions to their problems has continued to surge into the River.
Even security agents are not left behind as some of them were seen either with their water cans or aiding their loved ones into the River.
However, the water is expected to also dry up any time in the same mysterious way as it came.

        

APC Members Defect To PDP In Nasarawa State

More than 4,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Keffi and Kokona local government areas of Nasarawa State.
The newsmen report that the defectors were formally received into the PDP fold at Keffi and Garaku, the headquarters of Keffi and Kokona local government areas, respectively by the state’s Chairman of the party, Mr Yunana Iliya.
Commenting on the action, Iliya praised the people’s decision to join the ruling party and urged members of other political parties in the state to join the PDP.
Additionally, the PDP state chairman assured its members that the party would continue to initiate programmes aimed at bringing development to the people.
Iliya urged people to vote for the PDP candidates in the upcoming local government elections in the state as as well as in subsequent elections.
The party promised, if elected, to embark on massive construction of rural roads to open up the rural areas in the state.
Moreover, the PDP stated that the plight of women, children, persons with disabilities as well as other vulnerable groups would be also given top priority by the party.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr Ibrahim Anfani, said that their decision to join the PDP was informed by the leadership style of those elected under the party’s platform across the state.
Anfani said that most of the people elected under the platform of the PDP had carried everybody along irrespective of tribal, religious and political inclination in the state.

Don Jazzy & D'banj Unite

Former label mates, Don Jazzy and D'banj united over the weekend, at Rapper, Ice Prince's hyped 'Fire of Zamani concert'.

While many felt the two Nigerian music heavy weights Don Jazzy and D’banj were just going to snub each but the duo actually surprised many, they both broke into smiles, gave each other bear hugs and even shared a ciger.

This is the second time this year, these two are meeting in public and exchanging cheerful pleasantries. First had been at the wedding ceremony of Dotun Ojuolape of Cool fm and D’banj’s sister Taiwo. They had even performed together on stage.
Fans hurdled around them and cheered them on.

Fans are hoping against hope that D’banj and Don Jazzy will work together again, but they have left no indication that will be happening soon…we can only keep our fingers crossed.

ASUU STRIKE: We Will Not End The Strike Until...

  

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it will not suspend its ongoing strike until the four months salaries owed its members are paid.

The union also wants the immediate implementation of the N1.2tn offer by the Federal Government to public universities, starting with the release of N100bn this year. The balance of N1.1tn is to be spread over five years from 2014.
These were some of the resolutions reached by members of the National Executive Council of the union who converged on Kano on Friday to deliberate on whether to call off the over four- month-old industrial action or not.
A source, who was privy to the resolutions  reached during the President Goodluck Jonathan – ASUU leadership meeting three weeks ago, told The PUNCH on Sunday,  that  the fresh demands were some of the issues to be tabled before Jonathan by  the leadership  during their next meeting. A date for the meeting is yet to be fixed.
 According to the source, a strong commitment to  two demands, among other pending issues, must be obtained from the President before the  industrial action will be called off by the union.
He said, “The issue now is  on trust and we do not want a situation where promises will not be kept. The authorities have failed us in the past and we do not want a repeat of that.
”That was why we decided at the NEC meeting that the government should pay us the arrears of salaries being owed us since we started the strike on July1 before the strike can be called off. The salaries should not be paid piecemeal.
“We also insist that the Federal Government should start the implementation of the offer made to us when we met the President some weeks ago.
“For instance, the N100bn he (Jonathan) agreed to inject into the university system in 2013 should be released to the universities immediately. So, we decided  that before the strike could be called off, these two conditions and others must be met not by promises but by real action.”
The NEC members, who  met behind closed doors  at the Bayero University, Kano, were said to have reviewed the reports of the various university congresses on the strike.

jonathan sacks another aide

President Goodluck Jonathan  on Sunday, sacked his Special Assistant on Social Development, Mrs Aisha Umar.

This has been confirmed by brief statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by Mr Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim with Ref. No: PPR/OSGF/PR/02.

The statement did not disclose the details on why the aide was relieved of her job. The statement further read that, the termination takes “effect from November 25, 2013.”

I would be recalled that the President has sacked three of his aides in the past several months. The first was the Minister of Youth Development, Inuwa Abdulkadir, followed by the Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Mrs Joy Emordi, and the Special Adviser on the New Partnership for Africa’s Development, Dr Tunji Olagunju.

The 80 year old monarch of Ilase-Ijesa community in Obokun local government area of Osun State was killed in a fire on Wednesday night November 20th after hoodlums set his palace on fire. The

Alase of Ilase-Ijesa, Oba Adesina Anibijuwon, was burnt to death inside his palace around 8pm Wednesday though there are reports that he was strangled before his home was set on fire. Residents of the community claim the late Oba, who had been blind for nine years, was attacked by suspected members of Odua People’s Congress who invaded the palace that night in a Mazda 323 car which they later set ablaze. The charred remains of the late Oba Anibijuwon was taken to the mortuary at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. The police is investigating his death

MAN BURNT TO DEATH

A Lagos resident identified as Jide Ojoola and son of the Balogun of Ejigbo, has been burnt to death in a fire which consumed his father’s residence at Aminatu Ilo Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, western Nigeria.
Neighbours said the father of the victim is the brother of the Ojon of Ejigbo, Oba Moruf Adekunle Ojoola.
The fire was said to have been caused by a burnt out candle light which the deceased lighted but forgot to put out before going to bed.
“It was the candle that he lighted that caused the fire. When he came home, there was no light, so, he had to light a candle. The fire burnt everything in the house,” the neighbour disclosed.
According to report, the fire started at about 2 a.m. and burnt the deceased who was asleep to ashes before it was put out.
Other occupants of the residence ran out when the fire started without knowing that Jide, the deceased was asleep in his room.
Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the fire.
The charred body of the late Jide has been recovered and deposited at the Isolo General Hospital, for autopsy.
It was gathered from the neigbours that the father of the victim is the brother of the Ojon of Ejigbo, Oba Moruf Adekunle Ojoola.
Efforts to speak with the father of the deceased proved abortive, as he declined to speak on the incident.
“I’m not in the mood to say anything,” he said.

Manhunt on LASTMA Official caught on video collecting bribe approved by Fashola

 

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has declared one Mr. Micheal Ekundayo, an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, allegedly caught on video collecting bribe from the motorist “wanted.”
Gov. Fashola stated this during a meeting with LASTMA personnel.
“I want first to salute the citizen that got the video of the LASTMA officer who was caught negotiating bribe inside a citizen’s car.
“We must all use that kind of medium to fish out all the bad eggs in the society and bring them to justice.
“That LASTMA officer is still on the run and we have declared him wanted. I can assure you today that we will get him. As soon as we do, we will give him all his rights and he will have his day in court,” Gov. Fashola said.
Gov. Fasola further warned against skating on the state highways, saying, “anyone caught skating on the highways will be arrested and prosecuted.

Having been on a night out with friends, the man in question went to a local brothel near the southern Spanish city of Malaga.
There he decided to engage in an orgy with three prostitutes.
Once all the action was over, the women demanded €70 each for their services, but the man refused to pay one of them.

"I realize now I must have been a bit of a pain because of the alcohol I’d had," he said.

After a heated argument between the four, the mood changed as two of the women started to stroke and seduce the client to make him calm down.

His situation was so critical upon arrival, doctors had to give him a blood transfusion before he underwent surgery.

The Wikileaks cable, reference ID 08LAGOS153, described in Professor Damachi’s narration, that late president Yar’Adua was given poison in his food, “his food was poisoned”, he alleged. Further stating that the president inherited his predecessor, president Obasanjo’s kitchen, and these kitchen staff were likely used to poison Nigeria’s president. The professor further revealed that when president Yar’Adua realized this he fired the Obasanjo kitchen staff.
He Said: “There are lots of problems in Nigeria.” The first problem, he said, is the President’s illness; “his food was poisoned”, Damachi alleged. Asked whether he meant “food poisoning” or that someone had deliberately poisoned the President’s food, Damachi shrugged, replying “The President inherited Obasanjo’s kitchen staff”; Yar’Adua has now fired them all, and the kitchen has been cleaned out following the incident, Damachi said.At the same time, Damachi went on, the President did attend functions on both the Saturday and Sunday preceding his illness and ate some food at both of them. “What President eats at a function?”, Damachi asked rhetorically. The President was so sick that the day he signed the budget, he was unable to sign a second piece of legislation awaiting his approval…”
Late Yar’Adua Yar’Adua was known to have stepped hard on his predecessors toes. Upon entering office president Yar’Adua, described by his wife as a very honest man who left no wealth behind; seriously went after the reversal of Nigeria’s public assets that his predecessor had sold to his allies, Aliku Dangote and Femi Otedola.
“In the weeks leading up to Obasanjo’s departure, Dangote’s privately held company has also scooped up a cement plant, a telecoms licence and mining concessions in a rush of privatisations that has triggered accusations of cronyism by opposition parties.”
By July of 2007, barely 2 months into office, Yar’Adua had held meetings with Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE), to querry the sale of Nigeria’s refineries to Obasanjo’s henchmen, Aliku Dangote and tycoon Otedola. BPE reportedly justified the sale to Bluestar, saying it was transparent, but the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) faulted it, and maintained that the corporation was capable of running them efficiently.
President Yar’Adua “after considering the facts presented to him, the President directed that the sale should be revoked as the exercise was not transparent enough. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) praised President Yar’Adua for the revocation of the privatization of the refineries.” Dangote And former president Obasanjo Dangote And former president Obasanjo President Yar’Adua, determined to recover Nigeria’s infrastructure and assets coveted by Obasanjo and his cronies, moved on to other government assets.
Yar’Adua also suffered from chronic allergic disorder and this was easily attributed to be the direct cause of his death.
The possibility of the poisoning to death of a Nigerian serving head of State will amount to a grievous crime. The exhumation of late President Yar’Adua’s body may be necessitated as well as a thorough investigation of All who may have been involved in the murder of a president in office.

UNITY BANK DUMPS ICE PRINCE

Ice Prince recently missed being crowned as the brand ambassador of  Unity Bank, a leading  bank in the northern part of the country.
The bank decided to sign the Fire of Zamani crooner as its ambassador because of his rising hip-hop brand and mainstream appeal.
The deal was however not successful as  Ice prince asked for a sign on fee of N300m which didn’t go down well with the stakeholders of the bank. A source however revealed that the bank is now speaking with Kogi born   Nollywood darling Joseph Benjamin who has the Northern background they will gladly tap into.

50 people die in Russian plane crash as pilot tried to abort landing before deadly crash

A passenger plane crashed at an airport in the Russian city of Kazan today, killing all 50 people on board, reports say.

The Boeing 737 had taken off from Moscow and was trying to land but exploded on impact at about 19:20 local time (15:20 GMT), officials said.

The Emergencies Ministry said there were 44 passengers and six crew members on the Tatarstan Airlines flight.

Investigators are now looking at whether a technical failure or crew error may have caused the crash. Among the dead was Irek Minnikhanov, a son of the president of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, according to the official passenger list. 

Aleksander Antonov, who headed Tatarstan’s branch of the Federal Security Service, was also among the passengers. The victims also included two children.

Reports said the pilot had already tried to land several times before crashing. The crew had said they were not ready to land because of technical problems, Russian news agencies report.
A journalist who said she had flown on the same aircraft from Kazan to Moscow earlier on Sunday told Russia’s Channel TV that there was a strong vibration during the landing in the Russian capital.
“When we were landing it was not clear whether there was a strong wind, although in Moscow the weather was fine, or some kind of technical trouble or problem with the flight,” said Lenara Kashafutdinova.
“We were blown in different directions, the plane was tossed around. The man sitting next to me was white as a sheet.”
The airport in Kazan – the capital of Tatarstan – has been closed since the accident and is expected to re-open on Monday morning.
Kazan lies about 720km (450 miles) east of Moscow.
Although some of Russia’s biggest airlines now have very good reputations, frequent crashes by smaller operators mean the country has one of the worst air safety records in the world.

Everyone who is somebody in the Nigerian entertainment indusrty was present to show their support for the new couple. The wedding was planned by celebrity planners Ngozi Akintujoye and Omorinsola Arodundade of Perfect Coordinators who were responsible for Naeto C’s wedding as well. The wedding was well attended by Mike Adenuga, Football player Emmanuel Adebayor, Tiwa Savage, Karen Igho, Sasha P, DJ Jimmy Jatt, May D and several others with their computerized passes. Unfortunately, Dbanj missed the event aired due to the fact that he was stuck in South Africa. 
The general colour for all the ladies at the traditional wedding was blue and the various designs worn by the ladies blew our minds away. The attire that didn't quite make the great outfit cut was Rukky Sandra’s dress,  The beautiful bride kept changing her outfits and looked even more gorgeous in each one and that one pink outfit where she was showing a lot of cleavage.
