A 26-year-old man, reportedly fleeing form policemen on
patrol has drowned in a pond at Umuoka, Amakohia in Owerri west local
government area of Imo state.
According to report, the
yet-to-be identified man was smoking a substance suspected to be Indian
hemp with his friends when they suddenly heard the blaring siren from a
police vehicle.
The deceased and his friends were said to have taken to their heels, running in different directions.
Unfortunately
for the deceased, he fell into a deep pond which had been overgrown
with weeds and died before help could come to him.
However, he has been buried at his country home, Umuoka, the community where the incident occurred.
